The smell of rot and mold are nearly overpowering. The frame of the women barely has flesh still attached to it, even her clothes are in a state of gross rot. |
Background
In life Karlotta had been a beautiful daughter of a middleclass merchant family. In order to gain more social standing and riches she was given in marriage to a man 25 years her elder from a prosperous merchant family.
Karlotta although not pleased with her matrimonial state was not unhappy. The fabric shop provided her with beautiful clothing and travel, as the couple often went to distant provinces and countries in search of fine silks and mageweave.
Mrs. Mondova's husband died of the gout two years before the plague struck. This turn in fortunes left Karlotta as the sole owner of a thriving business which she took to immediately. Her travels took her from Southshore to the town of Brill in search of a specialty cloth from a local weaver, but the plague had taken the town, and soon claimed the merchant caravan as well.
When Karlotta rose she had no memory, her rotten frame shambled uselessly for some time before being taken in by the other forsaken. Her mind could not handle the transition to life after death, she was little more than a babbling walking husk. She was trained in the arts of a warlock and the use of fel magics in the hopes of giving her some purpose in the war with the scourge. Demonic powers immediately took advantage of this, using this corpse as a bridge and tool to allowing demons more control in the world of Azeroth. It was surely questionable whether it was the demons or Karlotta that were in control, and she often babbled of some hidden "master".
Then it happened again, she was among the dirt, crawling, wallowing with the bugs and filth as was her custom; when she was killed again. The Scourge sucked her soul from her frame and she was left to rot.
And it would have rotted had the lich King not decided to use the corpse for his nefarious plans to raise an army of Death Knights as fodder. Karlotta rose again, but something changed, with no war in her mind for control with the demonic energies she found she was almost sane. I say almost, because this walking corpse would only be considered sane by forsaken standards.
Her desires are unknown, but she is traveling the old trading routes.
Karlotta released from the scourges control is devout to the Banshee Queen. She has a brilliant mind for business and costs. She knows long lost trading routes, and is working to establish trade among the battle fronts and the forsaken. She appears to work on creating well defended supply lines, and perhaps find a way of getting rich in the process.
