Banyl Dolosen 

Background

Banyl is a dwarf raised by humans, and has lived in one form or another of Stormwind City for his entire life. His difference from the norm has often prompted the hesitant question of "Sorry, but are you sure you're a dwarf?"; his refined Stormwindian accent tends to catch people off guard, and he doesn't quite fit into the "amiable drunkard" stereotype - in fact, he doesn't touch a drop.

Once you've gotten past the open-mouthed shock of realising that he doesn't drink alcohol, Banyl will gladly tell you of his exploits in his career as a Watchman. The Burnmark Murders, the Shadowsun Conspiracy, and his various encounters with Hamfist, Shifte, and the Legitimate Business Club will all be recounted with various levels of glee, cynicism and anger. In particular, the jaded Watchman is keen to spread stories of Nath Shadoweyes, who he feels has been rather too efficient in covering up his past.

Banyl is one of the longest-serving Watchmen, but there have been a few gaps in his time. Recently, after a long disappearance, he reappeared in Stormwind under the name of Johan Bolte, and had quite clearly gone insane. However, a coffee-inspired breakdown caused his memories to resurface and his sanity to return, bringing the cynical Watchman back to the fore. This story, though, is one he might be less eager to tell.

Recently, a new chapter has emerged in Banyl's story. Arrested by the Shadow Sentinels under accusations of treason, for cooperating with the Defias, Banyl was soon sentenced to life in the Stockades after some damning evidence came to light. His death at the hands of inmates was soon announced. However, it was later revealed that the whole thing was part of a ruse designed to capture the notorious Shadoweyes. He now returns to his post as Master Sergeant of the Watch.
