Name Maerwynn
Occupation Soldier of The Argent Dawn
Age mid-twenties
Race Human

Outward Appearance

(looks to be in her mid-twenties)

Maerwynn is graced with a beauty that is inviting yet striking and intimidating. Rich chestnut hair frames the fair face of this strongly built woman with pale blue eyes that have a constant subjugating gaze. Her stride is stern and her mannerisms, though austere, are fluid. She radiates stubborn pride.

Clad in full plate armour, mace at one hip, short-sword at the other, as well as a shield on her back, she is always ready for battle. The stripes of a colonel can be seen on her tabard.

She speaks very clearly in an authorative tone with an accent from the far northern reaches of the Eastern Kingdoms.

**A very elegant claymore is strapped under her shield on her back, though she never seems to use it. A red ribbon is neatly tied on the hilt.

Background

Her talents in alchemy and botany only second to her fearsome finesse in combat, Maerwynn is the product of both imprisonment and freedom:

A fear for her future locked her in an intense and unwanted education. This changed her from obedient into an unruly force to be reckoned with. Her near miraculous escape from The Scourge transformed the flower girl into a terrifying warrior.

While never been trained formally as a fighter, her experience more than makes up for it. Her lone battles against The Scourge are the foundations of all her fighting skills and thus, her combat style is ruthless, unforgiving and sometimes very primal.

Maerwynn arrived in Stormwind seeking training. She was, however, too rebellious for the soldiers at the keep. She grew tired of being forced to do tedious errands and eventually left to join The Stormguard on one condition: she was not to be disciplined for simply being who she was. Amarae, seemingly being able to relate, agreed on her terms.

Being a guard meant that she saw all that Stormwind had to offer. It was a dirty city. A thankless city. And it seemed to attract a diverse variety of scum. The more she got to know the place, the less she wanted to protect it. One day she simply had enough and left for the north without a word. This was a decision that she came to deeply regret and will for the rest of her life.

A recommendation by Magistrate Maleb of Southshore won Maerwynn a much sought after commission by The Argent Dawn. Though impressed by her instincts in battle, they feared for her imbalance between passion and reason so they refused to let her do any work near her old home. Enraged by this disciplinary act, she almost left.

Upon hearing rumours of Amarae's death as well as reports of undead appearing in Stormwind, the Argent Dawn deemed it a wise choice to send Maerwynn, an ex-guard of the city, to investigate. Though it was confirmed by almost everyone that the Lady Field Marshall had died, these rumours were quickly quenched when she was seen walking in the cathedral square just a few days after Maerwynn returned to Stormwind. Unfortunately the reports of the undead were true.

The scourge had bled their forces into Arathi but due to sudden unknown circumstances, theorised as an overwhelming flanking counter-attack made by the dwarves at Dun Garok and the Argent Dawn Crusaders along with an Argent Templar at the Thandol Span, they eventually retreated. The oddity of this strange triumph has been overlooked by most - simply thankful the scourge are gone.

The victory over the scourge as well as Amarae being alive and well, Maerwynn felt that her primary goals had been accomplished. Many more weeks passed and Amarae reformed The Stormguard taking Maerwynn as her lieutenant.

However, Maerwynn offically resigned after returning from a mysterious disappearance that last over two weeks.

Still having managed to continue her work for The Argent Dawn during her time away from the city where she was drafted, she has been given new orders with even higher responsibility.

Now a colonel, she has been drafted to Northrend working directly under Highlord Fordring. Though honoured to be singled out by him, it is obvious that she is having trouble dealing with the fact that he is responsible for the renegade death knights of The Ebon Hold to be treated as equals.

Maerwynn is proud, talented and almost insanely dedicated to her work but will this be enough for the young colonel to be successful?
