Mud Diving Cores and How They Work
”I’m a genius, not your damn slave, big bully”!
The goblin shouted hysterically back at Tazkram, who sat on his chair with the goblin leashed. A broad smile appeared on his face, and that was also the only thing the goblin could see because the candle light was not very bright.
The goblin shivered at the thought of Tazkram’s glare and turned around to the table again.
“Why are we artists and wonders always held down into the mud”, the goblin mumbled under his breath. In one hand, the goblin held a wrench and in the other an elemental core. He knew the precision work this would need, just one wrong hit with a hammer or wrench would make the core crack into pieces and make it useless. He needed two exact sized halves of it, and he was not allowed to make mistakes.
The goblin lifted the core into the right position and held the wrench high up into the air; he closed his eyes frightened it may go wrong.
“Here goes everything”, with those words the goblin swung the wrench right into the middle of the core. The sound of it cracking could be heard. It was now the question if it had cracked correctly or into pieces.
“By all moolah in the world, don’t let it be cracked into pieces”. The goblin slowly opened his left eye to look down at the working table. The candle threw some shadows randomly down onto the table, making the goblin think that he had done something wrong at first, but would soon realize that he had hit it correctly. He took a deep breath, and looked up at Tazkram with a bright smile.
“There you go, two out of ten… you just inhale from the..-“
“I know how it works, just get the others ready”.
