Ex-Captain Niars Tydus 

Background

Niars hails from the marine nation of Kul'Tiras, having spent his earlier years within the Navy, then working as a "Coast Watcher" of Boralus, something he claims is not too dissimilar from his current job, except you must replace "hordes of gnome terrorists" with "wave after wave of angry murlocs". Following year 25's Hordefall celebrations, he decided to tempt fate and head to the City of Stormwind, where he head heard the Watch was in need of men.

After a little over a year of service, he reached the rank of Captain of the Watch, having served as Acting-Captain for the few months of Carinia Stormshadow's absence. Due to a prolonged absence he has taken early retirement from the post, settling with the status of Veteran and taking on a Liason and investigations role. He is a determined individual, but often tries to make light of a situation, however grim it is. These include the numbers of times he has been killed, in a myriad of interesting ways, while out on patrol.

He's not a bad cook either. And single (still).

After some time serving as a Veteran in the City Watch, he was asked to return to his home city of Boralus and take the post of Captain, following an unfortunate incident in which the previous captain was discovered with a murloc and a pirate in a seedy underworld den. This lasted until the City decided it would train new recruits to the Coastal Watch, promoting Niars' understudy, Lieutenant Pormal to Acting-Captain, while allowing him to spend time back in Stormwind, acting as a liason and investigator for the Stormwind City Watch.
