The Unexpected Battle

The Tauren coated in mail armour from head to hoof yawned. He sat up, the bed creaking under his massive weight. He stumbled out and washed his face in a basin, muttering. He quickly rinsed his helmet, dried it, and thumped it onto his head. Walking outside into the leaf-covered ground of Ashenvale, Splintertree Post, he saw that the orc, Xaor, was already set for the attack. Sergeant Blunderhide, the Shu'halo in mail, whistled and a Kodo lumbered into the camp. He mounted, and digged his heels into the Kodo's sides who charged off at a quick pace, Xaor keeping pace with his wolf.

"Dismount, we'd better approach on foot," Said Blunderhide, hopping off of his Kodo. The Orc also dismounted, and they walked swiftly towards Astranaar. When the bridge was in sight they darted to the right, and hid behind a rock. "How are we supposed to get across the water without being seen? Blast it, I do-" Blunderhide was stopped abruptly as Xaor began waving his hands about, and the Tauren suddenly felt lighter. He sighed, muttering about Shamans, and dashed across the water, hiding under the main building. Xaor quickly joined him.

"Three..Two..One..Launch." Whispered Poanax, as the two Horde raiders released their bow strings, the sharp arrows digging into a Sentinel's neck, whom collapsed to the floor without a sound. Xaor smirked. They quickly took out another, and then slipped to both sides of the door. Poanax made a gesture with his hand, and booted the door down, charging in, roaring. Sentinels poured into the room, wielding strange shuriken-like weapons. Poanax faltered, but Xaor was unphased, charging into the mass like a wild dog, slashing and crashing. The Sentinel's swarmed over him, and Poanax could not see the Orc, however much he tried. Suddenly, there was an explosion, and the Sentinels were launched across the room, some slamming into the walls, others flying through the door. Poanax blinked, ducking as one flew over his head, and then looked at the singed Orc, and then at the blood around him.

Hearing footsteps, Poanax groaned. He grabbed Xaor in his right hand, and dragged him over to the balcony. Just as he was about to leap over, an odd bear, with tattoos on it's shoulders, leaped onto Xaor, breaking Poanax's arm as it did so. The Sergeant yelled in pain, stumbling over the edge, falling onto the grass below. He picked himself up, and trundled away, thankful that the water-walk that his lost friend had given him.
