Background

"For as long as can be remembered, there has been a negative for every positive. For every smile, someone must cry. For every child born, a man must be slain. For every light shone upon us, there will be darkness.

Indeed, according to many, this is simply nature keeping it's balance. To many others, it is their God guiding them. No, it is no Earth Mother, no Elune, no Titan, that is controlling us. They must simple watch while they themselves are controlled by fate, destiny, the illusion of freedom. Indeed, everything we do, everything we want, it is all controlled by fate. But this illusion that binds us is not unbreakable. No. For aeons, many have made attempts to break this illusion. Whether they knew of this or not, they damaged it. But after many centuries of attempting to destroy the illusion of fate, the Burning Legion did not succeed.

But there was one who wished to control it. The Lich King did so, he succeeded in defying the balance of fate on such a large scale, that many were brought free from this illusion, either though his control, or indirect effects of his actions. But he is failing. You cannot wish to control the illusion openly, because then it will be broken to all you wish to control. Yes: You must control is from where no one sees. From the darkness of the trees to the haunted house on the hill; we are there. We are darkness, we have risen from the most extreme of negatives, to come and destroy the positives. We have come from life and conquered death to damage the balance of the illusion once again. We are not evil, no. We simply must be as we are because the illusion binds us to it. But we will rise from the darkness, the negatives and the fringes of your mind, we are Shadow."               - Deathmaster Grillok

The Cult is an organisation known mostly by rumor. If you find a strange and supposedly "crazy" man walking the streets, preaching in riddles, he is probably not crazy at all. No, he has seen through the illusion, and wishes only to save everyone from it. If you find that a family member has dissapeared, leaving only a note saying things about goodbye, they'll probably have listened to this man. The cult may be found as a group of paranoid people, but they are simply careful. Only the ones that can see through fate can know how to contact them.

If you wish to join them, simply look for them. Yes, seek them out, and they'll accept you with open arms...
