---Event postponed, new date to be confirmed!---

The unexpected discovery of an ancient stone fragment, possibly hailing from the age when the titans made the world, has caused a sudden rising interest for all things associated with the Ironforge Explorers' League and their daily business.

To make themselves more approachable to the public and answer any and all questions the public might have, the veteran explorers of the Weary Boots have put out an invitation to all interested parties for an evening of history and entertainment at the Ironforge Museum.

Date:
1 September 2008
Time:
18:30
Location:
The Ironforge Museum (Explorers' Hall)
Event details:

To celebrate the discovery of the titanic fragment that was unearthed from the Iceflow Lake, the Ironforge Explorers' League association of the Weary Boots will host a soirée exhibition at the Ironforge Museum on the 8th Day of the 9th Month of this year.

The soirée will start off at 18:30 hours and proceed as follows:

18:30 - Exhibition opening (drinks are served) and words of welcome

18:45 - A brief but enlightening lecture on the subject of the Explorers' League's latest exciting find, the Iceflow Lake fragment, by Historian Regar Wulfhardt. The Iceflow Lake fragment will be put on display for the duration of this.

19:00 - A special guest lecture (details to be confirmed)

19:15 - Guided tours: veteran explorers will provide entertaining and informative tours through the Museum's various exhibits for interested parties. Naturally, guests may also use this time to mingle and explore the museum on their own

20:00 - A Historical Hunt through Ironforge: history buffs and game enthusiasts alike are invited to take part in this wild chase through the capital. Follow the clues provided to you by the Weary Boots and win a prize!

You will also have the opportunity during the Open House hours to purchase the exclusive first edition of the Museum Catalogue.

The Ironforge Explorers' League and, most specifically, the Weary Boots association would be most delighted to welcome you for this evening of history and entertainment.

Most cordially,

Narath Stonebrow

OOC details:

Basically, the IC bit explains it all.

However, I am offering the opportunity for one or more interested parties to hold a brief "special guest lecture" on a subject of their choice (within reasonable limits; a monologue about the beauty of turnips might not work as well as, say, an excursion on the nature of the titans).

If you are interested in making a guest appearance at this event, please contact me by signing up on the realm forums thread, through the Argent Archives or in-game mail.

Depending on the amount of offers for guest lectures I receive, the time table will be changed to accommodate for them. To keep the event flow going, we will have no more than three lectures, however, and none should exceed ten minutes in length (half to three quarters of a page should do it).

Please prepare your lectures beforehand. This doesn't mean "fire off a huge wall of text macro", please, but some preparation will make this a lot more interesting for all of us. Also, try to make it entertaining, humorous, interesting, unique - you name it! Basically, write something you'd love to hear performed!

Please note that despite the chosen location, this is an event for everyone, not just dwarves and gnomes. Interested in history or a bit of fun at the puzzle hunt: pop along!

Looking forward to hearing from you - and seeing you there,

Narath
