Background

More than twohundred years ago a small Tauren was born in stonetalon mountains. The little Tauren had a light brown spotted furr and big blue dreamy eyes. Because his teeth were still hurting a little the little Tauren chewed on everything the little guy could find and soon his name was chosen to be "He who eats strange things" or as translated to Orcish "Xenovore".

Xenovore's father, Artarok Hammersmith, was a warrior in the Grimtotem clan as was his mother Aria Stoneheart. Both were quite known for their temper and Xenovore showed similar traits. Even at you age Xenovore was convinced that the only way to pride the Earthmother and make her notice him was to prove his strength in battle. Xenovore would literally fight everything and anyone he could find to prove his strenght.

Fortunatelly for his opposers Xenovore lacked many of te warrior skills that his parents exelled in. On one such events Xenovore met a strange woman with blonde hair and pointy ears who carried the stench of arcane magics. Offended by the smell Xenovore did not even allowed her to introduce herself properly showing no respect for his opponent. With ease the woman disarmed Xenovore tripping him to leave him helpless with her sword on his neck.

The woman introduced herself as Eirene, no last name, just Eirene. She pittied the Tauren's foolishness even to plea for his own life and demanded him to escort her as her guard for his life was now hers. Xenovore was sickened by the demand yet accepted. For a long time he escorted her on various missions, studying her way of combat. Shortly after he defeated her in combat and took her as his slave.

Over time both grew closer to eachother as friends in a strange way, yet still, this could not prevent Xenovore from doing perhaps the worst act in his life. In a bet against a forsaken rogue from the horde forces, he betted Eirene's life for thenthousand gold that he could beat him. Xenovore lost the bet and with it he lost Eirene.

The forsaken ordered a Tauren hunter from his unit to take Eirene's life yet the Tauren did not comply. The Tauren identified himself as Ardinan Lillyhoof and challenged the forsaken. Ardinan defeated the forsaken and confronted Xenovore with his own deeds. Xenovore, ashamed for his deed joined Ardinan's unit under Ardinan's command together with Eirene.

For years the three faught together Xenovore growing more and more violent on each mission. Even while fighting Xenovore was never cruel and never left an enemy to suffer, yet sometimes he would kill the wrong people in his fury.

During a mission where they were ordered to drive back a group of dragons from the blue dragonflight. Xenovore rushed forward not paying attention to any of his unit closely followed by Eirene who was trying to watch his back. Eirene yelled to stay close to the unit yet Xenovore didn't listen and in seconds they were cut off from the others by a flock of dragons. Both faught with all their strength yet were driven to a cliff and with the hit of a tail thrown off.

When Xenovore opened his eyes, he could taste his own blood and could barely move. Waiting for his focus to become clear he felt that his body was resting on something other than ground. Rolling over with great effort he could feel both of his legs and some ribs were broken. Slowly he raised his head an stared at the flattened body of Eirene whom's body and plate armor had broken much of his fall. Xenovore cursed at his defeat and could feel warm blood dripping down from his back where pieces of Eirene's armor had pierced through his skin.

Xenovore tried to rest a bit to gather his strength yet the flapping of wings announced that his rest was of short duration. A large blue dragon landed 30 yards away and stared down on Xenovore. As the dragon started moving towards Xenovore the body of the dragon started blurring slowly shifting into the form of an elf with blonde hair. Xenovore tried to focus, his vision blurring, as he fell unconscious.

When Xenovore opened his eyes the blonde woman was standing over him, her face expressing somewhat of sadness. He tried to speak yet with a loud growl the woman made clear that this was not the time to talk. Looking around he noticed he was being held in a cave where the ice itself seemed to illuminate the area. Although not imprisoned, the dragonkin in front of the exit warned him not to try to leave.

After some weeks of recovery the woman returned looking at Xenovore with some disgust. She identified herself as Haleh and and questioned Xenovore about his intention. Proudly bragging about his lust for battle Haleh got annoyed and silenced him by throwing to him the frozen head of Eirene. Xenovore was startled and did not know how to react to this situation for he realized all to well her death was his burden.

Haleh spoke in bitter voice and warned Xenovore of his future if he continued on the path he was. With powerful magic she induced an illusion upon Xenovore showing him an example of how his future would be living this life of violence. The illusion showed a life of death, pain and loss. Impressed by the visions, Xenovore broke down completely clinging to Eirene's frozen head asking for forgiveness repeatingly.

Haleh did not take pitty and forced him out of his self-sympathy with a bolt of frost. She asked him directly if he wished to change his ways and waited for an answer. As Xenovore nodded firmly she told him to follow as she started escorting him through the caves. She told him of the uncorrupted dragonflights, the ways they were and that there was a small order called the dragon protectors that dedicated themselves into protecting and preserving the few uncorrupted dragons that were left including the aspects they represented.

With a somewhat mean grin she told Xenovore directly, either he joined them dedicating his life to them, or she would feed him to her dragons as punishment for attacking her flight. Xenovore intrigued by the order accepted joining the dragonflights and followed the hard initiation rites. After some years Xenovore finally made his initiation, proving himself to the flights as a worthy dragon protector. Xenovore even voluntary succeeded in the "test of the unbreakable" granting him his gift of unbreakable will. During his duty for the dragonflights Xenovore has now done some great feats of strength that earned Xenovore his last name "Dragonfriend".

Over time Xenovore has changed a lot. Once a ruthless brute into a gentle, caring Tauren for whom no sacrefice is too great to help the ones he loves. His unbreakable will allows him to continue to fight where others falter and never giving up on those he loves.
