(3)An unusual allegiance.
"What is he doing here...so close to us, and so far from his own..." sounded the thoughts
He beat his wings hard, and turned in a sharp angle, seeking to pursue the red dragon, who was now entering a dive...as if it had felt him coming..
Without more thought to it, he dived after...beneath him, mountains sprouted up, they were flying over northen Lordaeron..Dalragos laid his wings back, giveing him more speed, and he was now coming closer to the just slightly larger Red...
Suddenly the red had disappeared, was it magic...? No...a challencing roar echoed up from beneath...He looked around...and there...just below him, on a barren plateu stood the other dragon..signaling it's challenge at him..Dalragos caught himself in doubt for a moment..but then let out a roar of his own...out of training or not..he wouldn't get shamed.
He landed in front of the red, meanwhile he kept his wings unfolded and ready..which in these confrontations also proved as a way to imprint fear in one another, thereby avoiding a fight. Yes even the intelligent dragons can be oh so primitive, considering that they could also start with talking.
The red gave a snort, his nostrils releasing a cone of hot air...He then folded his wings, and sat down. This caused Dalragos to turn into one big question...The other gave a smile, that only a dragon would call a "smile".
"Greetings Dalragos of the Blue Dragonflight...You are expected" His booming voice said, a voice filled with very flame of life...the flames that burn inside every being and represent our soul.
"Greetings you who serve She who is Life...Why have you brought me here? And why the challenge. Am I wrong to suppose that this was planned"?
The fact that he knew his name didn't surprice him...Names were usually no secret among dragons...and in these days..where we, the immortal dragons are so few...Names spread easily. Alas it was all planned...
The Red gave grin..
"You are correct, and you are here to provide us with knowlegde of your master...And to be granted an offer...there will be no excape for you"
"How's that...what will hold me back?"
He spread his wings wide, and held back his head...as if he planned to lunch himself either at the Red, or into the air.
"We will" two voices echoed from above...and two lesser drakes landed at the side of the Red.
Dalragos gave a slight snarl..
"Give me but one reason to betray my master!"
"Heed our proposal...Your heart is in doubt...you dont know wether to follow him into what you see as the abyss, or betray him, your patron, master and flight...Join us instead, give support to your red brethren...Let's make him see reason once more...together! Dont be a blind fool now"
For a moment, Dalragos considered charging at this dragon, tearing his wings and break his spine in the attempt..But he thought the better of it...
"How is this possible...I would accept...but I would be forever lost to them...bereft of dignity and home.."
"Life goes on...and if we stop him now...maybe one day he will thank you...and understand what you did..."
And so...he told them all, yet with a few argues and some reluctance...of Malygos..of the Arcanomicon, the Ley lines...They seemed to be aware of some...why else whould they have caught him...
He bowed at the three reds...and took one mighty leap into the air...the skies soon began to cover him, and make the earth beneath disappear.. At this moment...he was now Dalragos of the Blue Dragonflight...agent of the Red Dragonflight.
