Insultin' Pirate Party

Hot, sweaty, usual day in Booty Bay, merchants haggling, ships coming and going and... someone swearing there? Pirates? In Booty Bay? Wait, are those costumes? What's going on in Booty Bay?

You venture closer these people and suddenly, someone passes a tankard to you. You're confused - wasn't the Pirates Day back then? And why there are even some guards talking with those pirates? Is the world gone crazy?

"Yah, mon! I hope ya enjoyin' de party!" A troll pushes through the masses and pats you on the shoulder. He looks heavily drunken and shouts at people around him, occasionally passing some weird looking brew to another pirate. You question him, about the party around here. He looks at you, confused and bursts into laughter.

"Mon, ya deaf or shumthin'?! It be da Insultin' Pirate Party today! Drinkin', food and insultin'! Ya can win shum prices here! There's barmaiden's here an' dere, insultin' competishun, food and good time! Dun forget to wear ya best suit today!"

Before you can ask more, he staggers away drunkenly, leaving you with a tankard, pirate costume and a confused look on your face.

Drinking is a great excuse for a party! On the 19th of December, Booty Bay is open to everyone, who wants to drink, eat and have a great time! The innkeepers were nice (greedy) enough to lend us the tavern and we have warned the Baron of a "small little birthday party thing, which might cause a minor inconvenience to any bypassers". Everyone is welcome!

The Insultin' Pirates Party is all about booze, food, having a good time and, of course, insulting! In this party, there is going to be an insulting competition, where two sharp wits clash, ensuing an epic and hilarious battle! After each round, the judges give their points to either of the competitors and we will also have the people's vote, which decideds, who of the bad-mouthed pirates gets one step closer to the grand prize! The Pirate costumes aren't neccesity, but they are approved and will receive additional booze as an price for such dedication!

Barmaidens should keep everyone equally drunken, free drinks are ensured, food is tasty, events and competitions! What are you waiting for? Come to Booty Bay!

Ps. There has been rumors, that Landro Longshot has "sponsored" the grand prizes for the insulting competition... Stay tuned!

OOC details:

- This is the first event I have ever run. It is made in the spirit of International House of Mojo.

- The event starts at 19.00 PM, might be a bit earlier, depending on the preparations and all.

- Dress up! It's always better to look funny than use an clunky armor! Pirates are the fashion of today! Fireworks are also approved!

- Drinks are served, for free and for a price, depending on what do you want. Food is on a price, that ain't cheap ya know?

- There are going to be two main events in this party - Gumbo Party and the Insultin' Competition:

- The Gumbo Party is serving of strange new goblin soup - don't miss your chance to barf green smoke everywhere!

- The Insultin' Competition is annouced half hour before it starts. You can come to me Vuoripeikko and sign up, which will cost 15 silver. After everyone has registered and the timing is right, the competition will start.

I will call the competitors in pairs, each of them must rise to the challenge or the other one automatically wins. The starter is randomly chosen, who will whip up an insult at the other one. After that, he may respond, which they will continue until the time is over.

The judges will evaluate the battle and announce their vote, after that I shout a general people's vote out, which gets counted in as well. If the game is a draw, I will be the ultimate judge. The winner goes to the next round.

After the final round has been battled and the winner chosen, they will be awarded with the title of "Bad-mouthed Champion"! And of course, with the grand prizes!

First Place - Quite large amount of money and a SLASHDANCE LOOT CARD CODE

Second Place - Somewhat amount of money and a PAPA HUMMEL'S LOOT CARD CODE

Third Place - A small amount of money and a LIFELONG SUPPLY OF BOOZE

The winners can instantly reclaim their prices from Landro Longshot.

- Bit obvious here, but keep your PvP down. I don't want to see people bashed out of the city or ambushed by an rogue.

- I'm sorry Alliance, but this event is mainly for Horde. You can always come to hang with us, of course!
