Hello Users of the Grand and Wonderful site; The Argent Archives,

There are many wonderful and exciting features on this site to increase your abilities to enhance your character and show off your artistic talent.

One of these features allows you to embed video and sound, this was originally part of the archives to allow players to share their in-game videos or any music they might record. We wanted to give people yet one more way to show off.

But this feature seems to be used by our members in a way that it was never intended to be used. People have been using this to embed music videos and sound tracks into their adventures, guild pages, and profiles.

This causes difficulties in many ways for the site, and at this time we would like to ask everyone that has added "soundtracks" to their profiles, guild pages, or adventures to please remove them.

Why we ask people to remove these "sound tracks":

• The site is designed to give members of the server the chance to show off their own art, and due to copyright and ownership issues we can not allow the use of other artists works on this site.



• The Archives is designed to be used by all ages, all content needs to be appropriate for age groups of age to play WoW as well as be considered "work safe". Not all of the music used could be considered to fit into this criteria



• The users of the Argent Archives come from many diverse backgrounds with many different likes and tastes. Due to this not every member of the Archives will be appreciative of a pop tune they will be forced to listen to or some metal lyrics, regardless of how much you fell they might be expressive of your character.



• Many of these songs although expressive, are often not appropriate for WoW, many of them, pop tunes in particular contain modern OOC references.

But there are ways to take advantage of this option in a way it was intended:

• Use it to show off your IC movies


• Machinima


• Guild Advertisements

I thank everyone in advance. I know that this might be disappointing to some people, but please understand that we can not allow copyrighted materials, as well as possibly inappropriate material on the site. We would rather ask our esteemed members to remove the material themselves than to take measures on our own. So thank you again for any that choose to remove the material of their own volition.
