Background

Already at a young age Naiyaith knew she was different from the rest of her family. Her father was a farmer and her mother was a simple housewife and she was the youngest one amongst her siblings; they were short and robust, red haired with freckles and tanned skin. Naiyaith at the other hand was tall for an elf with a thin frame, her skin was pale as snow and her hair was pitching dark.
While her brothers were doing their chores on the farm, she could often be seen with her nose buried in a book and she preferred her books over contacts with other elves. There was times where she had to help out and she easily got blitz on her hands by handling a pitchfork, she also often broke a bone or two when climbing on ladders.
She was ashamed for being different and she knew it was impossible for her to ever fit in with the rest of her family. One night she decided to confront her parents about her thoughts, how she wished to study the art of arcane magic instead of pulling her weight at the farm. However, she wasn’t ready for the surprise that was about to be revealed. She found out that the elves she’s been calling her family was far away from being her own, she was adopted at a very young age when she was still a baby. She demanded her adoptive parents to tell her who her real father and mother were, but they refused.
After that conversation Naiyaith was never the same, she began to feel hate towards her false family and she was angered by their betrayal. She was plotting in her room, trying to come to a decision on how to end their miserable lives.
Many years passed by, she was living as an outcast amongst those who used to be her family. She avoided them, ate her dinner in her room, she was awake when they all have gone to bed. She embraced her loneliness, the night and its mysterious darkness.
One night she was on her usual walk in the forest, trying to escape from the house she now saw as a prison – she stumbled upon a heavy backpack and fell down to the ground. She lifted her head and saw a body lying not far away from the bag, the clothes was ripped in pieces and the maimed body gave away an awful stench. Horrified – she picked up the backpack and started running back to the house, she never returned to the forest again.
Once back at the house, she opened the backpack and found a rather odd spell-book, she didn’t understand the writings inside the book – it was written in a foreign language. The book contained many images of skeletons, banshees, half-rotten men and women, trolls, gnolls and other creatures that Naiyaith never seen or heard of before, nonetheless she felt strangely drawn to the book and couldn’t take her eyes or mind off it. She stopped sleeping and eating, she never left her room anymore – all her attention was focused on this rare item she obtained from the corpse.
Her family hasn’t seen her for years until one evening she left her room, her adoptive mother screamed when she saw Naiyaith, terrified. Naiyaith was no longer the pale and fragile-looking girl she used to be - she had dark rings under her eyes, her raven black hair had stripes of white in it, she looked exhausted and weary. Her eyes had almost lost its color as well, they didn’t glow anymore as they used to, and one could almost believe that all life had been sucked out of her. Frightened by how changed Naiyaith have become, her adoptive father forced her out from the house and let her live in the barn.
She was fed up of being hold back by a simple farmer, her hunger of learning more about the spell-book and the dark magic grew deeper and deeper in to her soul. Days, months, years… she lost track of time, she was dreaming every night about necromancers and blightweavers, amazed by the powers they wielded.
It was her older brother’s heart piercing scream that woke her up, she ran out of the barn and saw the house set ablaze. She could see a group of members from the Scourge chasing her siblings out from the burning building. A tall man suddenly turned around and stared right at Naiyaith with his hollow eyes, his skin looked pallid and sunken, and he seemed more dead than alive. At that point anyone would have fled but she felt strangely drawn to this creature, she wanted to see more… learn more. Instead of feeling disgust at the invading undead, she felt a sense of awe at his powers and she saw how he controlled the skeletons with only his mind or a few words. She got down on her knees and crawled closer to the necromancer and surrendered to him willingly, the hollow eyes glanced at her and his lips changed in to a wicked grin.

She was taken in by the Cult and began her training in a school for necromancy, Scholomance. With the promise of wealth, power and knowledge she gave herself fully to the Cult, her will was no longer her own and she did everything her superior asked of her. Her future looked promised because she had a talent for recruitment and the ability to blend in with normal mortals while pursuing the dark art of necromancy. She was betraying her own kind and the little good that was left of her soul slowly vanished to thin air.
After many years of training Naiyaith was given a mission to infiltrate Silvermoon City and recruit members of a certain position, Blood Knights. She was entirely focused on her task and began a romance with Ethane, brother to a higher ranked Blood Knight – Lady Laitha Bloodmist. She used Ethane to get information from Laitha about the Blood Knights and its establishment. However Naiyaith gradually began to develop feelings towards Ethane, she didn’t do her job anymore with the dedication she had in the beginning and she started questioning herself and the choices she have made.
It was when Ethane proposed to her that everything went downhills. She was angry and disappointed – she saw herself as weak for failing her mission but at the same time she was happy with the life she had together with Ethane. After many years together with Ethane she fled from Silvermoon for a reason that still remain unknown. She traveled around and isolated herself from everything and everyone – she knew that Ethane would try to search for her and the best way to be left alone was either to kill him or hide. She lived secluded and she enjoyed it.
She hid herself well but after a while Ethane finally managed to track her down. He was furious of her treachery and promised to end her sad life – but even though Naiyaith have lived a quiet life, she was still able to wield the dark magic that she was taught a long time ago even though she had less control of it. It was an intense fight and Ethane did his very best but his light was consumed by her darkness. Saddened by her fiancés death she returned to Silvermoon to seek out Lady Laitha Bloodmist – all for a lost cause. Laitha accused Naiyaith for Ethane’s death and guaranteed she would have her revenge.
Naiyaith now lives hidden within Silvermoon City, far away from her past – still unsure if she enjoy living her life as a civilian but is nontheless trying to create a better life for herself.
